Where to Eat, Drink & Save This Week
Scottsdale does luxury well.
It also does $25 cocktails, $80 steaks, and dinners that can get expensive fast.
So this week, instead of simply hunting down the cheapest happy hours, we wanted to find something more useful:
Places where you can still get the Scottsdale experience without paying full Scottsdale prices.
Think steakhouses, glamorous dining rooms, resort lounges, and restaurants where a normal dinner can easily turn into a splurge.
But go at the right time, sit in the right part of the restaurant or order from the right menu, and suddenly the bill looks very different.
Here are 8 Scottsdale spots where luxury comes with a discount.
🥩 1. STK Scottsdale - $49 Steak Night
This may be the best definition of Luxury for Less on the entire list.
STK delivers the full high-energy steakhouse experience in Old Town, but its current Steak Night offers a three-course dinner for $49 per person, Sunday through Thursday.
You choose a starter, an entrée and a side, with options that currently include:
Filet 6 oz.
NY Strip 12 oz.
Miso-Glazed Chilean Sea Bass
Maple-Rubbed Salmon
and Mushroom & Truffle Tagliatelle.
Dessert is included for the table.
You can even add two drinks per person for $20, including selections such as an Old Fashioned, margarita or Espresso Martini. STK Steakhouse
STK also has a $45 three-course Power Lunch Monday through Friday, featuring options such as filet, steak frites and salmon. STK Steakhouse
📍 STK Steakhouse

The Luxury-for-Less move:
$49 Steak Night Sunday-Thursday
This is the one I would put at the top.
🍸 2. The Americano - $3, $6 & $9 Happy Hour
The Americano feels expensive before you even sit down.
Dark room.
Big bar.
Italian steakhouse menu.
Martinis.
And Tell Your Friends sitting underneath it.
But from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, the bar, patio and high tops switch to a very different price structure.
Current happy-hour pricing includes:
$3 oysters
$3 shrimp cocktail
$3 scallop crudo
$6 steak & mushroom skewers
$6 lemon shrimp spiedini
$9 lobster sliders
$9 meatballs The Americano
📍 The Americano Restaurant
17797 N. Scottsdale Road
The Luxury-for-Less move:
Order several of the $3 and $6 selections, grab a martini and sit at the bar.
You get The Americano atmosphere without turning it into a full steakhouse dinner.
🦪 3. Maple & Ash - $3 Oysters + $40 Seafood Tower
Maple & Ash is not where you normally go thinking:

🔥 5. Toca Madera - $8 Margaritas + $5 Tacos
Toca Madera may be one of the easiest places in Scottsdale to spend a lot of money very quickly.
Which makes its happy hour surprisingly aggressive.

Current pricing includes:
NY Strip Taco - $5

The Luxury-for-Less move:
Two $5 tacos + an $8 margarita.
You still get Toca Madera.
You just skipped the Toca Madera bill.
🍝 6. Fat Ox - Aperitivo Hour
Fat Ox is one of those restaurants where the room immediately tells you:
This is dinner.
This is a bottle of wine.
This may not be inexpensive.
But Chef Matt Carter’s Italian restaurant also runs an Aperitivo Hour daily from 3:30-6:30 p.m. in the bar and lounge. Fat Ox
The restaurant is known for house-made pasta, slow-roasted meats and a polished Italian dining room, so the bar is the smart way to experience it without committing to a full dinner.
Experience Scottsdale’s current guide lists Aperitivo cocktails around $12, select wines around $9, beer from roughly $5-$6, plus discounted bar bites. Experience Scottsdale
📍 Fat Ox

It is about stealing the setting.

The resort currently runs weekday happy hour Monday through Friday from 3-5 p.m. Experience Scottsdale

🍴 FORKING SCOTTSDALE’S TAKE
There is a difference between cheap dining and getting a deal.
None of these restaurants is trying to be cheap.
That is exactly why they belong on this list.
You are still getting the room.
The service.
The cocktails.
The lighting.
The people-watching.
The steakhouse, resort, or destination-restaurant experience.
You are just being strategic about when you go and what menu you order from.
And if I had to pick the biggest surprise?
The Americano.
Three-dollar seafood at a glamorous North Scottsdale Italian steakhouse feels almost wrong.
In the best possible way.
And if somebody wants an actual full dinner?
STK’s $49 Steak Night is tough to beat.
That is Luxury for Less.
Not bargain hunting.
Just knowing when to show up.
